Common Diamond Price Questions
Why is a lab-grown diamond so much cheaper than a natural one of the same size and grade?
Because it can be produced on demand rather than mined, lab-grown diamond supply isn't constrained by geological rarity the way natural diamond supply is, which keeps prices structurally lower even at identical 4C grades.
Why does price jump so much at exactly 1.00 carat?
Round-number weight thresholds like 0.50, 1.00, and 2.00 carats carry outsized market demand, so price per carat rises sharply right at and just above these marks — more a demand effect than a reflection of true rarity at that precise weight.
